OUR APPROACH
Improve it. Automate it. Keep it under control.
We use DMAIC, the improvement cycle at the heart of Lean Six Sigma: Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, Control. It keeps the work tied to a real business problem and to evidence, from the first conversation to the dashboard that tracks the result.
The level of analysis is tailored to the size and complexity of the problem. A single approval workflow needs a lighter touch than a change that spans several departments.
The five stages
- D
Define
Agree on the business problem, scope, priorities, and intended outcomes.
- Which problem costs the business most, and who feels it?
- What is in scope, and what is not?
- What would a good result look like, in measurable terms?
- M
Measure
Understand the current workflow and establish a reliable performance baseline.
- Walk the process with the people who do the work
- Collect the data the systems already hold
- Check the data is reliable before relying on it
- A
Analyse
Identify bottlenecks, rework, variation, and the causes behind them.
- Where does work wait, and why?
- Where is work redone, and what triggers it?
- Which causes, if removed, change the result most?
- I
Improve
Simplify the process and implement suitable automation, integration, and AI assistance.
- Remove steps before automating the ones that remain
- Introduce automation and AI assistance where they help
- Test with the team, adjust, then roll out
- C
Control
Track results through dashboards, process ownership, and ongoing reviews.
- Give every KPI an owner
- Make performance visible in a dashboard
- Review regularly and act on what the numbers show
Human oversight where it matters.
Automation should make people more effective, not remove their judgement. These principles shape every workflow we design.
- People approve what matters
- Automation handles routine steps. Decisions with financial, customer or compliance impact keep a named person in the loop.
- AI works from approved information
- Assistants use sources the business has approved, with access that follows each user’s role.
- Exceptions are visible
- When a workflow cannot complete a step, it says so and routes the case to someone who can.
- Results are measured
- Each change is judged against the baseline set in Measure, not against expectations.
